Hi Folks, many of you have been asking so attached is some additional information for some local girls lacrosse clubs that I recommend:
There is much more information available on each website, which you can access via the logos on the left hand side of the website

North Rockland Girls Lacrosse
Hudson Valley Hurricanes
Metro Magic
Hudson Valley Express

As you search through the individual websites you will notice that many familiar names are either directly or indirectly involved in the coaching staff. Compare the fees, commitment, expectations and travel involved with each.

As always if you have any questions please ask.

Coach Borchers

As is the case with most programs North Rockland Girls Lacrosse offers opportunities for improvement throughout the year. We run camps, clinics, practices, tournaments, etc. This winter we have something for everyone. Below you will find information on the opportunities for all ages and attached you will find schedules & information. Use the icons on the left and chek into the various local clubs and what they have to offer.

Junior Varsity and Varsity practices

All of the indoor sessions are at Fieldstone Middle School and they are subject to cancelation based on weather or gym availability. If you are planning on trying out for Varsity or JV it is strongly recommended that you make yourself available for the 1 hour per week sessions. As always your current school sport season comes first. We have arranged the days in order to minimize conflicts, it is your responsibility to do the same. Dates/Times change weekly, locate where it has printed Varsity / Junior Varsity .

Selective Classification

As it relates to our program, we are recommending that you make arrangements to participate in a minimum of 10 out of 12 JV & Varsity indoor practice sessions. During that time you will be evaluated by the coaching staff through skills, drills, and game situations. If you would like to be considered for selective classification an email must be sent to Coach Borchers no later than Monday December 1st. Please understand you will be held to the identical standard as a High School student athlete – you are required to make every practice, every game, participate in program fundraising / events and hold an elite academic standard. Coaches recommendations for JV & Varsity will be complete on or before 2/12/15.

This is new to our program, what we have decided to do with the second day we have gym space is open it up to specific members of the North Rockland Girls Lacrosse program. Any player who is a returning member of the Varsity, Junior Varsity and any player who registers for Youth League (grades 3,4,5,6,7,8) for the spring 2015 may participate. These sessions are free of charge and only open for these individuals. Your stick skills will be at another level if you commit to these sessions. Dates/times are located on the Winter Session attachment where it has Stick Skills All. All of the skills will be age/level appropriate.

As always our commitment is to find new players interested in our program and refine some of the skills learned the previous season. This 4 day clinic is built for that. Under the supervision of the NRGL coaches and varsity players all individual participants are put through stations geared toward specific lacrosse skills. Competitions, games and prizes happen each session. Please forward the information to all interested.
